WHAT IS ANKARA?

WorldAtlas.com has some nice maps with one in particular that shows both the capitals of Turkey and Cyprus. It’s close but Ankara is the westernmost capital city in Asia and Nicosia comes in second. As you know (or should), a small part of Turkey lies in Europe. That is the part where the former capital Istanbul is located. MintageWorld.com goes into detail as to why Turkey’s capital was moved out of Europe to Ankara in Asia in the aftermath of World War I.

I am looking forward to the tournament of champions. And also Congrats to Amanda on pulling off another win despite not getting final today. I was hoping she would hit a daily double but still though she has a lot of ground to make up. Still gad to see the opponents getting final right.

I am rooting for Jennifer, but more importantly Jason is a jeopardy killer here so he will be a little tougher to beat.

I agree, Jason should be the favorite.

For some reason, I don’t remember the runs of most of the ToC players. There’s a tough weekly online trivia game I play that’s open to anyone, that also has subgroups including Jeopardy Alums. Jennifer and I are in that group. Unofficially, I beat her about as often as she beats me, but there are a few regulars who are far better at it than either of us.

Most likely Amanda would not have had a lock game tonight if Kristen had just known that beans are high in protein, and she might well have been the victor.
