Andrew found the first Daily Double in “It Ain’t Shakespeare” under the $1,600 clue on the 13th pick of the round. He was in the lead with $4,400, $3,200 more than Rachel in second place. Andrew bet $2,400 and drew a blank so he was WRONG.

Just 2 clues later, Andrew found the last Daily Double in “Movie & Song, Same Title” under the $1,600 clue. He was in the lead with $3,200 now, $2,000 more than Rachel in second place. Andrew bet $2,000 and guessed “Renegade”. That was WRONG.

Kara didn’t have a response and she didn’t bet anything either. Her score remained $400.
Andrew went with Mark Cuban. He didn’t be anything so his score remained $5,600.
Rachel wrote down Sergei Brin. She lost $5,100 and landed in second place with $500. That means Andrew Jones is the new Jeopardy! champ.

That He portmanteaus category was just, how should I say it, stupid? I accidentally looked at another review page, maybe TV Insider, not realizing the date. That article spoke of writers being “too clever”. I think that might be correct. Sometimes, when the entire category is TS, it is the fault of the contestants (a la Ryan Fenster et al. and the NFL category a few years ago). But, in this case, I leave it at the feet of the writers. Ick!
1/3 on DD, but FJ was a default, as that article I read gave it up (that was when I knew that the article was about today’s game).

Missed most of the program, and was stunned to turn it on and see Kara sitting at $0. What the hey?
Looking at the recap, I totally knew all three DDs, and was certain Final was Mark Cuban. He was a tech billionaire early in life. But he may never have reached the F500…
Knew Rugby/Grand Forks state; divorce capital (it’s where women often moved to in the 60s to establish 6 weeks of residency to get a quickie divorce); the $800 and $1600 portmanteaus were not difficult.
Just speculating, but it’s possible Kara had a week or longer between the Friday and Monday tapings. That happened to me in the 70s after I won twice on “Split Second” and had to wait 6-7 days till the next game. Not only was I a nervous wreck that whole time, but they picked the two best players from the new contestant pool to pit against me. We had a great battle but I lost.
Well I’m going to differ with the naysayers here as I thought that it was another great game, and quite competitive in fact. Gee, I sure thought that Kara was likely going to remain the champion. Instead, it was anyone’s guess if she could manage to get herself out of the hole, and into the positive territory. Anyways, I performed a tad below average in today’s game, and for lack of anything better, I went with Elon Musk for FJ. Yes, I was fully aware that it wouldn’t fly.
$19,600 in Triple Stumper clues, taking the three DDs I got at Face Value.
To get $19k+ in Triple stumpers(taking the values of the DDs gotten as the value of the clue) and have a lock game going into FJ! on jjust the triple stumpers, doesn’t happen often.
Awful show as all 3 DDs were missed resulted a shutout and a triple stumper in the final resulted an epic fail on wagering clues. Let’s hope tomorrow will be better.
Every once in a while, we get a game where the categories just don’t fit the contestants, and we get tough games like this. Obviously, the producers can’t ask the contestants what categories they do like, and then, magically put them on the board. It doesn’t work that way. They have to think about what categories to put on the board and hope the contestants will like them. Not today. Hopefully, tomorrow, we’ll get categories that are to the contestants’ liking. Oh, and darn those Daily Doubles! I didn’t forget that.
That was a terrible game to watch. All three players struggled with the material today. Sometimes, the game material just doesn’t fit the contestants and that was the case today. Lots of triple stumpers and low scoring game. They all scored below 6,000 going into Final. We had a daily double wipeout as well and the worst part is we even missed the tiebreaker. This was one of the worst games ever this season and that is not good at all. Today’s game was just like October 29, 2024 where all three players had less than 6,000 going into Final.
Better luck next time with the tiebreaker.
