    First response –Rick who?

  2. JP says:

Much easier clues after yesterday’s very difficult game.

  3. VJ says:

Wow, Lou, were you never asked a question that you needed a minute or two to recall the answer?

    • Lou says:

Sometimes yes, but not all of the questions would need a minute or two to answer. I have a strong memory of recalling almost all facts and events that occurred previously.

      • VJ says:

Lou, with a steel trap memory like that, maybe you should try out for the show.

Anyhow, I wasn’t pointing anything out — just wondering why you concluded that Andrew didn’t take the game seriously. We have seen contestants write down joke answers or something other than the right response to show that they knew what the clue was about plenty of times. Just last Friday, Nibir crossed out a correct answer to put in a shout out. I thought Andrew was just trying to show he knew the author’s books though he could not pull up his name.

Funny thing, the reverse happened in the last round on Master Minds today when they wanted a character name. The player gave the author’s name. (Unfortunately for him, he was up against Ken Jennings).

        • Richard Corliss says:

Speaking of Ken Jennings, the Greatest of All Time is re-airing on May 5-14th. Including His first appearance in 2004 and his last game. His first appearance is on May 4th and his last game we’ll be on the 15th.

I wonder if that means they will have run out of new episodes?

        • VJ says:

@Rhonda, they haven’t run out episodes — this is from Jeopardy!’s Twitter: “More new episodes are coming after the #JeopardyGOAT encore, including the 2020 #TeachersTournament. Stay tuned!”

Seems like they decided to stretch out their new episodes, like WoF is doing.

Sidra couldn’t get much going but I am glad that she and Gary got final jeopardy right. Andrew never even lasted that long. As a long time jeopardy fan, you have to be specific in final jeopardy and only write down what the clue is asking for, VJ. I mean think about it, the previous champions like Jennifer quail, Karen Farrell, and Sam Cavanaugh played more seriously and with grace. What Andrew showed here today tells me that he isn’t really taking the game seriously.

Anyway, that’s my thought for today’s game and I hope Gary can build up on his win and go on a streak. If odysseus ever met percy Jackson, would they ever collaborate to fight off evil?
