Written in 1604, the play consists of 4,042 lines of 29,551 words. Hamlet also contains the longest of any of Shakespeare’s 1,277 speaking parts, with Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, having 1,569 lines of 11,610 words.” The list also notes that “Hamlet has appealed most to film makers with 79 versions”, although that may be higher since that 2014 post.

Erick went with “Romeo and Juliet”, too. That cost him $12,200 and left him nothing

I think I know Patrick. I think he was a couple of years ahead of me in high School.

I thought that it may have been ‘The Taming of the Shrew’, but I wouldn’t have picked ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

As an avid reader of William Shakespeare, hamlet had a movie based on the play but it’s been a while since I saw it. The second longest play was coriolanus and then cymbeline, followed by Richard III. Romeo and Juliet only had three thousand lines so that was definitely ruled out. Let’s hope Patrick can break the dry spell of leader curses here. There have been plenty of Shakespeare jeopardy clues previously.
