Ricky found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Bridges” under the $800 clue. There were 6 clues left after it. He was in the lead with $5,000, $200 more than Carter in second place. He bet $2,000 and he was RIGHT.

Ricky finished in the lead with $7,600. Carter was second with $5,600 and Joyce was last with $3,800.
Round 2 Categories: Nice Side Whiskers! – Viral Video – Stuck in the Middle Word With You – Fighter Planes – Poet-Tree – Yes, the Thai
Ricky found the first Daily Double in “Nice Side Whiskers!” under the $1,600 clue. There were 2 whole categories plus one clue remaining after it. In second place with $9,600, he had $4,400 less than Carter’s lead. He bet $3,000 and he was RIGHT.

Joyce found the last Daily Double in “Poet-Tree” under the $2,000 clue. Only 2 clues were left after it. She was in third place with $9,400 now, $5,800 less than Carter’s lead. She bet $4,000 and she was RIGHT.

Carter finished in the lead with $13,600. Ricky was next with $13,000 and Joyce was in third place with $11,800.

The excerpts in the clue come from a July 31, 1963 letter that Muslim minister Malcolm X wrote to Baptist minister, Martin Luther King, Jr., inviting him to a Muslim rally in Harlem on August 10th of that year. The King Encyclopedia on Stanford.edu has a jpg of the original letter, which is date stamped August 5, 1963. Historians don’t know if MLK ever saw the letter but it was kind of short notice.
The Harlem Unity Rally went forward without King. Malcolm X’s speech is online on youtube.
Joyce bet $6,000. She finished with $17,800.
Ricky bet $10,601. That brought him up to $23,601.
Carter bet $12,401 so he won the match with $26,001 and he is the new Jeopardy! champ. Great game!

I was cool with Carter winning. I’m seeing more wins in his future. He aced most of that fighter planes category. I didn’t even get one. LOL!!

Joyce could have won if not for underwagering on the DD, which was the last correct response in the game.
True. When she starting catching up in Poet-Tree, I was hoping she’d get the last DD and then when she did, I was saying go for it, Joyce. I guess she bet as much as she felt comfortable with, but dang! that turned out to be the easiest clue of the whole category.
