BOTH contestants left in Final Jeopardy! got it right.

WHAT IS MILAN?

The Duchy of Milan was one of the largest city-states in Northern Italy, established in 1395 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, and later taken over by the Sforza family. On its east was the larger Republic of Venice. The smaller Republic of Florence was situated to the south of Milan and Venice. There were other city-states between Florence and the larger two.

Duckster’s Renaissance for Kids has an article with short descriptions of the 5 major city-states. There’s also a great map that you can enlarge to see the whole area, maybe even the imaginary triangle mentioned in the clue. (It doesn’t look equilateral to me.)

Kristen bet $2,190 and finished with $8,790.

Bryce bet $5,000 and won the game with $23,800. His 2-day total is $39,200.

Mamma mia, I knew Milan was in the north so that was my total guess.
Only 1/3 on DDs, the “E”asy one of course.
Whatever prayer Kristen might have had was wiped out by her repeated wrong answers. I’d hang my head in shame if I didn’t know the former owner of our pro basketball team. His sister owns it now. Poppin’ Fresh clue was a cinch.

  2. Ryan McClelland says:

Poor Connor never got out of the red. At least Bryce has had a runaway game.

  3. Kevin Cheng says:

Conner was broke from the get-go. It wasn’t his day and he became the second player this season to spent the entire game in the red and never got on the plus side.
