Having been a lifelong California native resident and Los Angeles-area “local” during the 1980’s, I was quite keen to this aspect of Olympic history. While the 1984 Olympics were playing, those who paid attention to the media knew this was the second time the city played host. During the first go-around in 1932, the LA Coliseum was built, which is where the opening and closing ceremonies were held, and then held there again in 1984. So all I had to do was a little arithmetic, and came up with the correct response, “What is 52 years?” That makes my fourth Final Jeopardy! *skunk* of 2021, after connecting with three within a week just last.month.
It wasn’t kathy’s day today since Amal was quick on the buzzer today. Despite not getting final, I think he might have a shot at getting a streak going. Whenever a final jeopardy clue comes, the contestants must pay careful attention to the clue about what they are asking for and not just put in some random answer that has nothing to do with the clue.
So “brotherly love” was accepted as the definition of “agape”? Actually, there’s another word for “brotherly love”, philia.
I’d highly recommend C.S. Lewis’s “The Four Loves”, which covers both, along with “storge” and “eros”.
Tough FJ as we got a triple stumper for the second Tuesday in a row. Just like before, nobody knows about Olympic Games.
