Oh, and, just for the record, I’m happy for the triple solve, because, I said “the MoMA”!

I lived in NYC for 3 years, and the MoMA and the Guggenheim are two more things I never visited! Not doing anything artistic or cultural while I was living there – I was like a native NYer!

Precisely correct re the wagering. Margaret’s definitely a tad goofy. But very smart. A couple of times, she added a side remark like “That isn’t right” to her response. Seems a bit nervous too.

Totally agree re Christine. I wrote pretty much the same thing last night on this site. Matt or Amy, among others, would annihilate her. A solid player, but not nearly as good as other 4X winners.

Terrific comeback tonight by Christie from -2400, once she found categories to her liking.

A bit surprising no one knew what race took place on May 30. “Green flag” alone gave it away.
Otherwise, this was a strong crew tonight.

We noticed that Margaret didn’t seem as confident in her responses today as she was yesterday and were even wondering if she was feeling okay.

I agreed with your earlier comment about Christine and the ToC — I don’t think there will be as many triple stumpers in any of the ToC QF’s as there were in Christine’s games .

VJ, thank goodness Ann-Margret didn’t make an appearance last week, in Double Jeopardy, no less! Lapin would have been toast!

    • VJ says:

yeah, wow, Rhonda — that sure was lucky. I didn’t expect her to make an appearance so soon. lol.

What was weird in today’s game was how Ken Jennings didn’t ask for the first name of the “Fault in Our Stars” author when they just had a clue a couple of weeks ago about a book his brother wrote. Just “Green” wasn’t good enough then.

  4. Lou says:

Well I am glad to see that reversal helping Ujal today. And with another triple solve today, we got some really good players so far. Marge looks good to win another game despite not getting that daily double on the second round.

    • Jason says:

I don’t know how long Margaret can run making bad bets on final to victory. Had Christine yesterday, or Ujal today, bet to win, they would both be the champion for that specific day. Although, I do find Margaret’s polite to a fault manner to be, irrationally for me, endearing, slightly.

As for Ken stating outright that Christine has a chance for the TOC, I’m saying right now that, IF she does get to the TOC, she doesn’t make it out of the quarters – neither as winner, nor as wild card.
