Oops, forgot to record the show. I see there were many stumpers. URI is a gimme. Given the long clue, Toad Suck’s river not hard to discern. Being from that 1946-64 generation, the triple rhyme wasn’t too tough for me. Got only the middle DD but whiffed on Final. Misread the first one as the opposite value.
It was another great game, and James prevailed again. Well, I performed about average in the game, but was stymied in Fj. In fact, I simply took a bad guess, and went with Abu Dhabi. Yes, Captain Edwards was killed while piloting the Boeing B49 ‘Flying Wing’. That plane was just a little ahead of its time.
That’s the second triple stumper in a row. James tried to hit 100k both yesterday and today and it didn’t work out when Final was a killer. The good news is that James is locked in for the 2027 TOC.
The bad news is there are too many stumpers in these games. I don’t know how James is gonna make out in the ToC against stiffer competition unless he gets the Daily Doubles.
Ken jinxed him today with the constant oh, you’re 6 for 6 on the Daily Doubles. Will you make it 7, how much are you gonna risk on this category, yak yak yak. I wonder if it’s hard for the players to concentrate with Ken’s non-stop commentary.
Molly kept the other DDs out of James’ reach for all the good it did her.
