Neal found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Alaskan Geography” under the $600 clue with 2 clues left after it. He was in last place with $2,000, $4,000 less than Elizabeth’s lead. Neal bet it all and drew a blank so he was WRONG.

Elizabeth finished in the lead with $6,000. Ray was second with $4,800 and Neal was last with $0. All clues were shown.

Ray found the first Daily Double in “That’s a Big Animal” under the $2,000 on the 13th pick of the round. He was in the lead with $13,600, $7,600 more than Elizabeth in second place. Ray bet $4,000 and he was RIGHT.

Neal got the last Daily Double in “10-Letter Verbs” under the $1,600 clue on the 18th pick of the round. In last place with $2,400, he had $15,300 less than Ray’s lead. Neal bet it all again but drew another blank. That counts as WRONG.

Ray finished in the lead with a runaway $23,600. Elizabeth was in second place with $8,800 and Neal was last with $400. All clues were shown.

WHAT IS ITALY?
An article on The Whole World Is A Playground lists the 10 countries with the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites as of July 2021. The top 5 countries are: Italy (58), China (56), Germany (51), Spain (49), France (48).
Italy and China were actually tied for first place with 55 sites each until the meeting of the World Heritage Committee in July 2021. At that time, 3 more sites in Italy made the list while China only added one more. Italy’s new sites are Montecatini Terme as part of a multi-country list of Great Spa Towns of Europe; Padua’s 14th century fresco cycles; and the Porticoes of Bologna. China’s new addition was Quanzhou: Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China.

Neal came up with Indonesia. He lost his $207 bet. Ken hoped that was his lucky number and Neal deadpanned “not anymore” to much amusement. Neal finished with $193.
Elizabeth thought it was Turkey. She lost $8,700 and finished with $100.
Ray got it right. He bet $4,400 and won the game with $28,000 even. Ray’s 2-day total is $60,600.

And, again, as I said several days ago, I give no pity to poor FJ wagers. Elizabeth didn’t have to do anything, and she would have finished in second. Instead, she makes a $1000 error, finishing in third, That’s an avoidable response.
Did anybody guess the United States thinking it may be a trick question? My guess was Indonesia.
Totally guessed right on FJ. Also not sure how I knew the name of the Alaskan sound where the oil spill occurred. The brain can do strange things. Like 3 people not knowing the 7th letter of the English alphabet.
What did Ken mean when, after Ray had his hand up in a gesture after winning final jeopardy, that Ray “held the show up” or something
@Dave, after Ken told Ray that the lagoon was Venice (not the Blue Grotto, as Ray guessed), Ken said they won’t take any points away for that. Ray put his hand up and Ken said: “You just got to show off for a minute” (presumably for getting the volcano right).
I was happy to get this final, I knew Venice is on a lagoon but I thought the volcano was Mount Vesuvius. Good game though.
I guessed Indonesia, same as Neal. It has 9 UNESCO World Heritage sites at the present time. Turkey has 19 .
Well too bad Neal didn’t nail his daily doubles but I am happy Ray won again. I hope ray makes a streak next week.
