Kelly answered George Washington and that was incorrect. She bet $6,500 and leaving her with $500.

John also came up with George Washington and that cost him $17,000, leaving him with $7,200.

Andy wrote down Benjamin Franklin and was right. He bet $6,399 and won the game with $26,799.

    I wonder what led the contestants to GW in the fj clue. He never entered my mind. Congratulations Andy.

      I suppose if you focused on “tyrants” in the clue, rather than “thunderbolts”, you might think of GW because of his leading the army against the tyrant George III.

      Oh, John, how could you? You overcame Andy’s two big DD scores and retook the lead.
      “Thunderbolts” was a dead giveaway for Final.
      John had the makings of a long-term champion. Super-fast, cool under pressure, and super-smart.

    Congrats to Andy on winning today’s game but I would have thought of a triple solve today. At least all the daily doubles are nailed. Thanks for sharing nikki and hope your mom makes a strong recovery after her operation. We are all praying for her.
