WHAT IS OLD FAITHFUL?

From the U.S. Geological Survey website: “The first officially documented observations of the geyser came in 1870, with the Washburn-Doane-Langford expedition to the region. The geyser was reportedly named by Nathanial Langford, who noted: “It spouted at regular intervals nine times during our stay, the columns of boiling water being thrown from ninety to one hundred and twenty-five feet at each discharge, which lasted from fifteen to twenty minutes. We gave it the name of “Old Faithful.”

The following year, Ferdinand V. Hayden headed up the geological survey that led to Yellowstone becoming the world’s first national park in 1872. Hayden confirmed that Langford named the geyser Old Faithful and noted that it was also called the Guardian of the Valley.

Lucy bet $5,000 and finished with $14,200.

Sam bet $2,500 and finished with $15,200.

Josh bet $8,600 and won the game with $25,200. These scores will be added to tomorrow’s final scores to determine the winner of this tournament.

Ken goofed – I ran it back and listened again. After the DJ round, Ken said, “at the end of the Jeopardy! round”. Made me double-check with the amounts on the scoreboard!

That missed DD by Lucy really hampered her. Still, all getting FJ was good. I got it, too. Josh looked quizzical, but I’m not sure why, as he was correct.

A good game. I was satisfied!

I don’t know what was more mind-blowing: that no one knew the 3 words that precede “is better than none” or that it was a $1600 clue 🤣🤣🤣

Do we have a candidate for one of the easiest-ever Finals?

They sure left a number of clues unanswered tonight. The tall grass; betting across this; horse owner’s action; and DeNiro’s grill. And no one knew the 3 words that precede “is better than none”?
