Cris found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Weird Science” under the $800 clue on the 5th pick of the round. Cris was in second place with $1,400, $600 less than Zack’s lead. Cris bet it all and he was RIGHT.

Some scientists think Uranus’ atmosphere may compress carbon atoms into these, putting the ice in ice giant show

Cris finished in the lead with $8,600. Andrew was in second place with $3,400. Zack was last with $2,400. All clues were shown.

Round 2 Categories: Where on Earth? – I Got the Part! – Tudor Times – The Automotive World – After School – Pony Tales

Cris found the first Daily Double in “Tudor Times” under the $1,600 clue on the 4th pick of the round. He was in the lead with $11,000 now, $7,600 more than Andrew in second place. Cris bet $5,000 and he jokingly said “Oh, my darling, Clementine.” That was WRONG.

Alas, my love, it’s probably not true that Henry VIII wrote this song, which actually dates from later in the Tudor Era show

Cris got the last Daily Double in “Pony Tales” under the $1,600 clue on the 19th pick of the round. In the lead with $15,200, he had $7,600 more than Zack in second place. Cris bet $4,800 and he was RIGHT.

Mollie, who misses wearing ribbons in her mane & eating sugar cubes, represents the petite bourgeoisie in this novel show

Cris finished in the lead with a runaway $20,400 after getting the $400 clue in “Automotive World” on the last pick of Double Jeopardy!. Zack was in second place with $10,000 and Andrew was last with $5,400. All clues were shown.

TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS WOODSTOCK?

In 1969, Max Yasgur owned a large dairy farm in Bethel, New York. When the original location planned for the Woodstock music festival pulled out, Yasgur leased one of his fields and crowds that reached some half a million people poured into the area for “Three Days of Peace & Music”. The quote in the clue comes from Yasgur’s effort to bridge the generation gap when he addressed the Woodstock crowds. Unfortunately, some of Yasgur’s neighbors did not share his vision and ostracized him after the festival.

I once had the privilege of speaking to Lester Chambers of The Chambers Brothers. He told me that The Chambers Brothers did not perform live at Woodstock. They were unable to get through the roads so Lee Housekeeper, their booking agent, did the next best thing and had their hit song “Time Has Come Today” played over the loudspeakers. More on who performed at Woodstock and who didn’t on IMDB Trivia.

Andrew didn’t have a response. He bet and lost his whole $5.400.

Zack got it right. He bet $801 (in case Andrew was right and doubled up) and finished with $10,801.

Cris got it right. He didn’t bet anything this time so he won the game with $20,400. Cris is now 10-day superchamp and has won $$333,723.

Wow! I really felt bad for Zack today. He would have won if he got that $400 clue so I think he should get a spot in the next Second Chance tournament.

It’s also been said this week that Mike in Tuesday’s game (10/11) should get a spot, but Mike got FJ! wrong. Therefore, imo, he never really had a chance to win. I know they have chosen some contestants who got FJ! wrong to be in the first Second Chance tournament but that’s what I don’t understand about how they pick ’em. I think it has something to do with how many times they tried to answer and got outbuzzed.

How would Zach have won the game with an extra $400? Both he and Cris answered FJ correctly. Cris would have bet > $0 if it were not a runaway. Fun fact: I was in that movie for about 5 seconds in a crowd shot right after John Sebastian performed in it.

Stumpers were too tough for me, other than the stinky guests one and the missed DD. Cris obviously didn’t know the first 3 words of that folk tune.

      • VJ says:

You’re right, Howard.. Cris would still have won. I should have said Zach at least had a chance to win.

That rocks that you were in the film even for 5 seconds. John Sebastian rocks, too.

        • Howard says:

Around the time the Woodstock album came out in 1970, he put out an excellent solo album entitled “John B Sebastian.” It has a gatefold jacket, and on the inside are a few photos. The largest one is a black-and-white shot taken from behind him at Woodstock, and in that one I can spot myself as clear as daylight. It’s one of my favorite albums. His father was a composer and musician.

Congrats to Cris on becoming a double digit champion. He is coming back tomorrow on the final regular play game before the Second Chance Tournament and the Tournament of Champions.
