Wow, another great Jeopardy game, but I didn’t have much of a clue regarding FJ. In fact, I just took a real wild guess and went with Peyton Place. Anyways, as I had mentioned before, I simply refrained from watching the vast majority of the newer films and sitcoms (as they’re not worth my time). Actually, the only recent film that I viewed was ‘Godzilla Minus 1’ (2023) upon my sister’s recommendation. That wasn’t an especially good movie either as there was too much dialogue, and not enough action. When action did arrive, I didn’t consider the special effects to be all that great.

I liked Mike’s FJ wager. He knew Mark had to bet $7001+ to ensure victory with a right answer, and a wrong one would send him down to $11599 or less. And the zero wager locked out the third contestant entirely.

“Sibling” gave me that third DD. Missed FJ, but a fair question to be sure.

Re: FJ from two years ago. I was present when Max uttered those words. Unfortunately he died young, about 3-4 years after the festival.

Water plant receipt was very easy. So was the VP sequence, at least if you know whom Hamlin served under. Australian actress somewhat obvious.
Those anagrams were much easier than the ones they usually offer.

In Munich, to open Oktoberfest, the Mayor of Munich says “Ist Obst!”, which means “It’s tapped!” Mike OBSTGarten didn’t get the clue about “Taphus”!

Pythagoras 400 years ago? Dude was dust then!

I got FJ, and 2/3 on DD.

Interesting take. I know no German to speak of, so I looked online and the only translation of “obst” is fruit. (I’d have guessed it meant “open.”) Obstgarten must literally mean fruit garden.

      • Jason says:

Yikes, I am wrong (again), and you are right (again)! I had the German wrong: it is “O’zapft is!”. That means, “It is tapped “, but in the Bavarian dialect.

I have been studying German for nearly 3 years on Duolingo, and forgot that. “Obstsalat” is “fruit salad”.

And I don’t even drink anymore!

  4. VJ says:

Carmine Lupertazzi had a hilarious scene in The Test Dream on The Sopranos. He was portrayed by Tony Lip who played Frankie the Wop in Goodfellas. Viggo Mortensen portrayed Tony Lip in Green Book.

After Carmine’s death, Tony wakes up in bed with the old man, who ran away from heaven because he’s lonely on the other side. Warning: mucho profanity.

  5. Kevin Cheng says:

That means that Mark Fitzpatrick becomes our first official qualifier for the Tournament of Champions. Finally it took 24 games this season to have a 5 day champion.
