Final Jeopardy: Constitutional Amendments (1-3-20)

Here are 2 more triple stumpers from the 1-3-2020 Jeopardy! game:

CALENDARS ($1000) The calendar I just got doesn’t say it’s using the “new style” created by the 13th pope of this name, but it’s a good guess

ROCK BANDS ($2000) Bryan Ferry & mates reunited to play “Avalon” as this band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019

The players missed all these clues in IT’S A HAND! IT’S MICHIGAN!, which was accompanied by an image of a hand. I’ll see if there’s a video of the category later (not making those images!!!).

($800) Over toward the pinky side is this city where Gerald Ford got married in 1948. The city is named for the swift current of a river
($1200) At the bottom center of the palm is this penitentiary city named for the president who signed Michigan into statehood
($1600) Right there in the webbing of the Michigan hand is Madonna’s city of birth, named for its location on this bay
($2000) Near the tip of the pinky is this Center for the Arts where parents have sent talented children since 1928

@albert LOL. We got vouchers for the Sony Pictures Studios cafeteria. 🎉🎉

  2. Albert says:

Would ‘passive resistance’ be accepted in addition to ‘civil disobedience?

    • Howard says:

Exactly the answer I’d have given. I think it was acceptable, unless the clue as written would have negated that.

  3. Dal Higbee says:

I think Jennifer Quail cursed the contestants on the Michigan category today.

  4. Lou says:

Shayna couldn’t get anything going, but still Karen has swept up the week with seven wins, it’s similar to what Kyle Jones, Ryan Fenster, and Josh Hill did during their run. And I thought Matt could be our next champion to build up on his win since I saw an article telling us he memorized over 35000 questions.

I am glad that reversal helped Karen. By the way VJ when you first started filing income tax, what obstacles or hurdles did you overcome? I know stress is one of them. I heard that TurboTax saves people a lot of time writing things on paper.

    • VJ says:

Well, that’s interesting about the 35,000 questions… I wonder if any of them showed up for him today and he just got outbuzzed.

I was about 18 when I filed my first income tax return, Lou. My father showed me how to do it and I got a little refund. It really wasn’t a big deal.
