VJ, is Brian Chang Cliff Chang’s brother?
No.
Another poor FJ answer. They are beginning to pile up. TVs are changing channels.
For ‘Red Cent’ I had “Plumb Nickel”. Do you think I would have been given eventual credit for ‘Plumb Nickel’? I know the term. plugged nickel, but I have also heard the term, plumb nickel, a few times in my life.
Also, is plumb nickel a malaprop such as “albacore around my neck”? Thanks in advance for any responses.
Albert, here is the clue:” Something valueless is “not worth a” this colorful 2-word coin phrase.” Plumb nickel, plug nickel or wooden nickel would not work here because of the specific use of the word colorful.
I think the plumb part of “plumb nickel” refers to lead and “plum nickel” is a corruption of that.
This reminds of me of way back in 2013, when everybody in that year’s Teen Tournament picked Dublin, but the correct response was Belfast, and they all lost everything. So, there was no winner in that Semi-Final Game, and they allowed the highest scorer among non-winners: Leonard Cooper, with $30,200, take the 3rd spot in the Finals, and he went on to win the tournament. Today, everybody picked Belfast, but this time, it was not the correct response. That would be Londonderry, or Derry. Curse You, Belfast! Anyways, Zach Newkirk is now a 6-Time Champion, and he’ll be back on Monday, to see if he can tie with Brian Chang for games won on “JEOPARDY!”.
yeah, that clue from 2013 is in the recap, 2nd paragraph after NONE of the players got Final Jeopardy!
Let’s hope Zach can keep his streak going next week. It would be great to have two seven game champions to get 2021 rolling. We’ve had three 8 game winners so far.
You were a lucky duck, VJ, you dodged Amy Lowell by a week!
I know, Rhonda! I was super surprised to see ol’ Amy show up in that Poet-pourri category. That’s her first clue since 4-25-2017!!!!
That was quite unexpected, and how it showed up in the second round as part of the clue, too.
And we had another grape mention tonight as well!
ooh, yeah, Rhonda — a week earlier and they woulda got me good!
We end this week with another triple stumper and today’s FJ wasn’t nice to anybody.
Also, this was the first time this season that everybody had the same wrong FJ! response. When was the last time everyone had the same wrong FJ! response.
Besides January 5, 2021’s “Georgia” trap. That was the date Brayden Smith lost.
