Missed the show, so relying on the recap. The only early 19th century female author I know is Mary Shelley, so that was easy. All 3 DDs got me. Knew the Updike DD was Rabbit something. Looks as if this was a great see-saw game. “Giovine” stumped me; it’s somewhat close to “jeune” (young) in French but not close enough to make the association.

Knew the Trump movie and guessed the pirate. Superman city pretty obvious. Liked those Greek derivations, but the last one got me.

It was a great game, and I performed somewhat above average. Yes, I surely recognized Mary Shelley of ‘Frankenstein’, but I somehow couldn’t come up with the name in time. Ugh! How in the world could I have flubbed the FJ so badly when it was so obvious? My bad!

I, nearly immediately, thought of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, sort of instinctively. Nearing the end of the music, I thought in the other direction of time, and wondered, “Maybe LM Alcott?” but, I stuck with Shelley. Ever upwards!

1/3 on DD. Ironically, the only one I got was the Updike; ironic, because, I’ve never read anything by that guy!

I thought both challengers were good; Brian seemed to really be coming on strong, but the DD miss took the wind out of his sails.

Ken got hung up on Kristen’s interview story. He seemed to linger longer than usual.

Kristen might also be a second chancer.
