Draisaitl and McDavid Lead Edmonton to 8-5 Rout of Ottawa
Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid only scored a combined one goal in Edmonton’s 8-5 win over Ottawa, but the duo had 10 assists in the victory on January 31st. Draisaitl had six assists and McDavid had one goal and four assists for the Oilers, who improved to 5-6. The Senators fell to 1-7-1, the worst record in not just the North Division, but in the entire NHL.
After that performance, McDavid leads the league with 22 points, with Draisaitl right behind at 21. The Oilers are averaging 3.45 goals per game, but are allowing 3.73; goalies Mikko Koskinen and Stuart Skinner have a combined save percentage of .893. But then, they have had to deal with almost 37 shots on goal per game so basically, Edmonton needs to work on its defense.
