Dodgers Take Two of Three From Diamondbacks
The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their run through the season by taking two of three from the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix August 8th-10th. The Diamondbacks have had a pretty good run themselves this season with a record of 64-50, and are likely to make the playoffs as a Wild Card, but the Dodgers have been incredible. With an 8-6 victory on August 10th, L.A. improved to 81-33 on the season. The Dodgers are 16 games ahead of second place Colorado and 17 ahead of Arizona.
Newly acquired starter Yu Darvish won his second game with the Dodgers, allowing two runs in five innings while striking out 10 in that 8-6 win. The top four of the Dodger’s lineup—Chris Taylor, Corey Seager, Justin Turner, and Cody Bellinger are among the best in baseball this season. Turner leads the National League in hitting at .348, and Bellinger is having a sensational rookie season, with 33 home runs and 76 RBIs, and he wasn’t even in the majors until April 25th. And the club may be getting stronger yet. Clayton Kershaw is on track to return to the starting rotation later this month, as is slugger Adrian Gonzalez.
