Denver Ends Utah’s 11 Game Winning Streak

The 1st and 2nd place teams in the NBA Northwest Division got together on January 31st when the Denver Nuggets hosted the division leading Utah Jazz. Coming into the game, the Jazz were on an 11 game winning streak, the longest so far in the NBA season.

Denver got off to a fast start—leading 43-29 at the end of the 1st quarter and went on to a 128-117 victory. Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets, matching a career high 47 points. He also led the team in rebounds with 12; it was his 20th straight double double. All of Utah’s starters scored in double figures, led by Bojan Bogdanovic’s 29.

Denver (12-8) will host the Detroit Pistons on February 1st. The Pistons will then fly to Salt Lake City for a game with the Jazz (15-5) on the 2nd.
