Coconut Woman Miranda Kerr Mad at Misquote

Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr does use coconut oil every day but only four teaspoons, not tablespoons.

The 28-year-old Victoria’s Secret Angel found it necessary to clarify her coconut oil intake after Australian Cosmopolitan magazine ran a story misquoting comments on Miranda’s blog. The “Vision of Femininity” wrote:

“When it comes to coconut oil, I personally find it beneficial and use approximately four teaspoons of coconut oil a day (in my salads and meals) not tablespoons.

“Everyone is different but that is what works for me and I prefer it as a substitute to other oils that are more readily used in day to day food preparation and cooking. I suggest people consult with their health practitioner for what is right for them.”

According to MSN.com’s report on Coconut Oil:

“… the Food and Drug Administration has informed consumers to avoid coconut oil, a saturated fat. (The American Medical Association agrees that saturated fats should be limited in our diets.) Evidence in favor of coconut oil has not yet met the FDA’s standards for recommendation; studies are regarded as either inadequately controlled or not extensive enough to be conclusive.”

No worries here. We never touch the stuff.
