Chelsea Handler On Her Teen Abortion

Chelsea Handler openly discussed her teenage abortion during an appearance on “The Rosie Show” this week. She said that her parents talked her into terminating her pregnancy when she was 16.

“I was so delusional,” the now 36-year-old Handler said, “I was like, ‘I’m ready for a baby.'”

But her parents were not and convinced her that she would be throwing her entire life away. “You’re not having a child right now. This is not what our family’s about,” Handler quoted her parents as saying, “We want you to enjoy your life and not be raising a child. And we’re certainly not going to raise it for you.”

Oprah Winfrey shocked Piers Morgan last year when she confided that she not only had no regrets about losing her child and felt it was the best thing that could have happened.

Handler has no regrets either. “I wouldn’t be a good mother,” Handler stated and added, “You should do whatever you want with your body and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you what to do.”

A pretty weird thing to say after just outlining how it was her parents who made the decision for her.
