WHAT IS “THE HANDMAID’S TALE”?

The lengthy Feb 9, 1986 NYT review of “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Mary McCarthy is online. Canadian author Margaret Atwood published the futuristic dystopian novel in 1985. It imagines a patriarchal society where women are the lowest members of society and are forced into strict social classes. The handmaids are the breeders who are forced to bear children. A streamming series based on the novel began airing on Hulu in 2017 and is now up to 5 seasons. A 6th and final season has been announced.

Patton got it right. He bet it all and doubled his score to $24,600.

Michael came up with Seabiscuit because it fit the “breeders” part of the clue. He bet and lost his whole $20,800.

Brendan wrote down “Heartburn.” He lost his $10,500 bet and finished with $20,700. That meant Patton won the match in a surprise upset. Brendan and Michael each won $50,000 for their charities. So it’s gonna be Ike Barinholtz, Wil Wheaton and Patton Oswalt in the final game.
