WHO IS LILLY PULITZER?
Lilly Pulitzer Rousseau’s first husband was Herbert Pulitzer, a grandson of Joseph Pulitzer. In the late 1950s, she opened a juice stand in Palm Beach, FL. She soon found that splashes of citrus juice were getting all over her clothes while preparing the product. Lilly enlisted her dressmaker’s help in coming up with colorful prints that would camouflage the splashes. The splashed dresses made quite a splash (pun intended) with her customers to the point where Lilly began selling more dresses than juice. Lilly closed down the juice stand and started Lilly Pulitzer, Inc. Although she shut the business down in 1984, the brand was revived in 1993. It is now owned by Oxford Industries Inc.
Heather wrote down “Who can get me some wine?”, saying she felt the need for an adult beverage. She bet and lost her whole $2,800.
