Canadiens’ Carey Price Wins 300th Game as Montreal Beats Arizona 2-1

Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price reached a career milestone when he stopped 36 of 37 shots in Montreal’s 2-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes in Glendale, Arizona on December 21st. Price notched his 300th career victory in the NHL with the win. The 31 year old goalie improved his record this season to 14-10-4 with a 2.84 goals against average and .905 save percentage.

Price is in his 12th NHL season, all with Montreal. His career record stands at 300-211-66, with a .918 save percentage and 2.48 goals against average. His best season so far has was the 2014-15 campaign, when he was 44-16-6, with a .933 save percentage and 1.96 goals against average. He led the league in wins, save percentage, and goals against average that year, winning just about every award possible, including the Hart Trophy (Most valuable Player) and Vezina Trophy (top goalie). He had injury plagued 2015-16 and 2017-18 seasons that limited his games played and effectiveness, but sandwiched in a 37-20-5, 2.23 GAA and .923 save percentage 2016-7 season in between. He continues to be an effective goalie for Montreal.

The Canadiens are 18-13-5, (41 points) and are in a logjam in the middle of the Eastern Conference, but just seven points out of 2nd place. Montreal is at the Vegas Golden Knights on December 22nd.
