BET Awards Whitney Houston Tribute

Cissy Houston’s sang “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” in a very moving tribute to her late daughter, Whitney, at the 2012 BET Awards that brought many people to tears. The lyrics of the song take on a much different meaning when a mother sings it and you can’t help feel that. “When tears were in your eyes, I dried them all.” We all have mothers and some of us are mothers who have also lost a child.

 
She further personalized the song for Whitney by singing when she needed a friend, the Lord was right behind her.
