One Million Beat Shazam Round – 6 songs
First 5: $25,000 each. They only get a shot at the million if they get all 5 right. There are no multiple choice screens and they have to know the song’s exact title before Shazam to be right.
1. OLDIES: “Shop Around” (The Miracles) – They didn’t hit the buzzer so there went the million right off the bat.
2. DIVAS: “Telephone” (Lady Gaga) – That was a piece of cake for Jason because he’s a huge Lady Gaga fan, and they’re up to $98,000
3. ALTERNATIVE: “Two Princes” (Spin Doctors) – Another slam dunk $123,000
4. COUNTRY: “It’s a Great Day to be Alive” (Travis Tritt) – No siree, no chance when you don’t lock in fast enough.
5. ’80s: “Hold Me” (Fleetwood Mac) – Another miss.
They began the round with $73,000 and finished with $123,000.

Mark & Jason now have to make THAT choice. They can’t win a million but they can double their money to $246,000 if they want to go for it. It will cost them if they’re wrong and they’ll lose half of their $123,000 or $61,500. HOWEVER, they can reject the challenge and just go on home with the $123,000. The CHART TOPPERS category wasn’t telling them to go for it and they decided to walk. Mark & Jason played the last song for kicks and Jason buzzed in but seemingly blanked out on “A Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson. Jason said that he and Mark were just singing that song yesterday.

We wouldn’t have gone for it either after only getting 2 out of 5 songs, which brings us to this week’s Idle Wonder: would more players go for the last song if they only lost half of what they won in the Million Dollar Round, and not half of everything? Probably, but then the prize would likely only be double what they won in the Million Dollar Round and not everything.
