All In Supporting Cast: Boardwalk Empire

Here are some actors who were in the supporting cast of All In, the fourth episode of Boardwalk Empire, Season 4.

Stu was played by Joel Marsh Garland, a driver for Dean O’Banion (Arron Shiver). He got his face jacked up when O’Banion decided to pull a practical joke on him involving a rifle. Later, Stu fell asleep in the back of a bread truck that O’Banion used for speakeasy deliveries. Al Capone (Stephen Graham) and his brother, Frank (Morgan Spector), spotted the truck. George Mueller, formerly Agent Nelson Van Alden, (Michael Shannon) was with them. When it came to light that Stu was in the truck,  Al Capone gave him to the count of 10 to get away and then gave Mueller a gun, instructing him to kill Stu if he didn’t want him to tell O’Banion. Mueller missed and his gun jammed, so Al Capone killed Stu.

Josh Caras returned for one more episode as Henry, the Temple College student who gave Willie Thompson (Ben Rosenfeld) a hard time in “Acres of Diamonds.” Willie was looking for revenge and spiked a bottle of hooch with a homemade concoction of chemicals, then made sure to get it into Henry’s cup. Willie’s intention was to give Henry a case of diarrhea, lock the bathroom door to prevent him from getting in, thereby forcing him to soil himself. The prank went horribly wrong when Henry finally got into the bathroom and died.

Ned Luke played an unnamed anti-Semitic man at the Onyx Club poker game, who kept making remarks that were annoying Meyer Lansky (Anatol Yusef) while Arnold Rothstein (Michael Stuhlbarg) went on a massive losing streak. “Ish Ka Bibble,” he mocked. That is a Yiddish saying that means “What, me worry?” It became identified with comedian and musician, Merwyn Bogue.

After convincing Rothstein to cut his losses and convincing Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) that he’d make the best business partner, Lansky found the poker player and beat him severely, all the while uttering Yiddish epithets. We don’t see him die, but it didn’t look good.

Aaron Joshua played the fellow whose very presence on a Harlem stoop inspired Dr. Valentin Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright) to set Dunn Purnsley (Erik LaRay Harvey) loose on him. Purnsley stomped on him so viciously and so many times that survival seemed quite unlikely.
