Adrian Peterson Takes PED Accusations as Compliments

We suppose it’s inevitable nowadays that any athletes who are outstanding performers in their sports will be accused either on or off the record of using performance enhancing drugs. So it would follow that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson would be the subject of rumors and accusations of PED use.

In 2012, Peterson rushed for 2097 yards, just nine yards short of the NFL single season rushing record.  It was an amazing performance made even more so by the fact that Peterson went down with torn ligaments in his knee in December of 2011.  He’s never failed a drug test, and while no one has stepped up and publicly claimed Peterson juices, there are whispers out there that he had some artificial help recovering so quickly from his injury.

So do these informal accusations and rumors bother Peterson?  Nope, in fact he takes them as a compliment and proof that his conditioning program and hard work pay off.  “it makes me feel good…I don’t get mad about it all” says Peterson.

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols, on the other hand, does not take such accusations as compliments.  Former major leaguer Jack Clark said on his St. Louis based radio show that Pujols’ former trainer told him Albert uses PEDs several years ago when he was with the Cardinals.  Well, the trainer denied ever saying that and Pujols decided to be proactive.  He denied ever taking PEDs and announced he would take legal action against Clark and the radio station.  “I am going to send a message that you cannot act in a reckless manner, like they have, and get away with it.”

Message received, at least by the station.  Both Clark and his co-host on the show were fired. Clark still stands by his accusations.  As of August 13th, Pujols had not yet filed suit.
