Adele: Her Very Own Jeopardy! Category
Jeopardy devoted an entire category to British songstress Adele on Thursday, June 23rd. The contestants left this category til last, just like the players did on June 22nd with “A Major Leaguer in Song.” Here are the clues with the name of the player got it in parentheses.
($200) Like Lionel Richie in 2015, Adele had a hit bearing this title (Laurie)
($400) It might sound like surgery on these folds in the larynx would be disastrous to a singer, but Adele soldiered on (Will)
($600) Adele’s third album is “25”, her second was titled this (Laurie)
($800) Adele won an Oscar for this movie song she performed at the Oscars in 2013 (Will)
($1000) Adele released a live album taped at this London venue mentioned in the Beatles’ “A Day in the Life” (Will)
It’s cool when they get all clues in the category they left for last. The $600 and $800 clues have appeared a bit differently in other categories before. There have been several “Rolling in the Deep” clues, but none today.
Adele was also half the response to this Daily Double in the match played on June 20, 2012: 2011 MUSICMAKERS: According to Billboard, the top 2 music artists of 2011 were these single-named singers, neither born in the U.S.”
