New champ Jennifer Linde, an associate professor from Minneapolis, MN, won $24,800 last Friday. In Game 2, she is up against: Donesh Olyaie, a strategist from Corona, CA; and Helen Belcastro, a medical device program manager, from West Lafayette, IN.

Donesh found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Historical Markers” under the $1,000 clue, with 4 clues left after it. He was in second place with $4,400, $400 less than Jennifer’s lead. He bet $1,000 but had no response so he was WRONG.

ALL of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT IS TIFFANY’S?
Truman Capotes 1958 novella “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” spawned a 1961 film of the same name starring Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly. Both have so many fans that it’s actually weird that it took Tiffany’s until 2017 to make having breakfast at Tiffany’s a reality. You can find numerous articles and videos on what it was like to eat at the Blue Box Cafe inside Tiffany’s and how hard it was to get a reservation, but you won’t be able to go there yourself at this time because, according to its website, the Cafe is “closed for “reimagining”.
An old clue from 1990: AUDREY HEPBURN ($200) 1 critic said Audrey sang “Moon River” in this film “with more charm than…Andy Williams”
Helen bet all she had and doubled her score to $16,800.
Jennifer bet $3,500 and finished with $18,700.
Donesh bet $10,000 and won the game with $28,400. Donesh Olyaie is the new Jeopardy! champ.
A triple stumper from each round:
BRITISH SPYCRAFT ($1000) This alliterative author served in MI6 & used his real code number for a character in “Our Man in Havana”
THE FICTIONAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK ($2000) In this woman’s “The House of Mirth”, Bertha Dorset not only has an affair with Ned but also says Lily had one with Mr. Dorset
2 years ago: ALL of the players got this FJ in “Familiar Phrases”
Originally a folk term for a chronic rash, this phrase got a new meaning as a title for a 1952 stage comedy & later a movie. show

Thanks for the fun clip, VJ. Reminds me of how things used to be BC. So odd to see people sans masks, eating in a restaurant a distant memory.
Other than the goofy FJ wager, the game turned earlier on Jennifer’s wrong answer in Business Pairs (she said J&J instead of the obvious (to me) Procter and Gamble). The next clue was the DD, and the $5K wager put Donesh in the driver’s seat.
You’ll notice that if Jennifer added an extra $10,000 to her wager, which would have made it $13,500, she would have beaten Donesh by $300. Donesh, you can’t do that, but still, a big payday of $28,400, and we’ll see what you can do tomorrow.
Agree with you William. Wish Jennifer had wagered everything and doubled her money. That would’ve taught Donesh a lesson for his mathematical ineptitude.
I wish that too.
Great to start the week off with a triple solve by the players. Still despite the daily double not paying off for the strategist, he still came through in the end. John Wilkes booth was the one that killed Lincoln in the theater. Overall I feel donesh can build up his win further if he can get a string of correct answers as the week goes on.
