NONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Around 1873 or 1874, a settlement called Slabtown emerged not far from Oro City, where gold strikes had become hard to find. Miners in this area still had to deal with the problem of heavy black sand that was hard to separate from the placer gold. In 1875, a few enterprising miners found through testing that the black sands contained carbonate of lead with high silver content. Slabtown was renamed Leadville in 1877 and became a silver mining boomtown. In its heyday, it attracted the likes of Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Soapy Smith, Frank and Jesse James, The Dalton Gang, Poker Alice, Texas Jack, Unsinkable Molly Brown, Oscar Wilde, and ex-president Ulysses S. Grant. Read Leadville’s fascinating story on Western Mining History.
A 2011 clue: U.S. GEOGRAPHY ($400) Leadville in the Rockies in this state is the USA’s highest incorporated city. –It was put a different way for this FJ clue in 1986: Geographic distinction of the city of Leadville, Colorado
Mononita wrote down “Red Rocks.” She lost her $7,001 bet and finished with $199.
Daryn had Golden, Co. “Good for beer,” Alex said. That cost Daryn $4,801 and left him with $4,799.
Ryan had Golden, too. He lost $5,001 but won the game with the $9,199 he hung onto. Ryan Bradley is the new Jeopardy! champion.
A triple stumper from each round:

That was a tough FJ, harder than last Friday’s, I think.
Rhonda, at least it turned out that they were mining silver. LOL!!
The 2 triple stumpers in the Music Legends category made me wonder if the day is coming soon when the players won’t know who Frank Sinatra is. (I can already see that happening with Dean Martin if he comes up again).

Yes, VJ, my only consolation is at least they were mining silver, given my nuttiest guess ever lol.
Well, another triple stumper since no one knew who molly Brown or the Dalton gang was. And here I thought daryn was thinking ryan could have bet everything but a dollar so that he could win but I guess that ship has sailed. Also have these players ever heard of the Yukon Trail? It also deals with finding gold in Dawson just like in leadville.
Finally, the contestants cleared all the board.
