Warriors Eliminate Rockets to Advance to NBA West Finals

The Golden State Warriors were without injured Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry was held scoreless in the first half of the Warriors’ playoff game with the Houston Rockets. But that wasn’t enough to stop the Warriors, as they pulled off a 118-113 victory in Houston on May 10th. With the win, Golden State eliminated Houston four games to two to advance to the NBA Western Conference Finals. The Rockets must be getting tired of this; they have been eliminated in the post season by the Warriors in four of the last five years.

Curry wound up scoring 33 points in the second half to lead Golden State. Klay Thompson added 27, and Andre Iguodala had 17. The Warriors’ bench contributed 33 points to help cover Durant’s absence. James Harden scored 35 and Chris Paul had 27 for Houston.

Golden State advances to the Western Conference Finals for the fifth straight year, as they try to win their third straight NBA Title and fourth in those five years. Golden State will play the winner of the Portland–Denver series for the conference championship.
