Supporting Cast of Never Gonna Give You Up – Ray Donovan

There were only a few new faces in “Never Gonna Give You Up,” (1-6-2019), Episode 11 of “Ray Donovan,” Season 6. The episode recap is here.

Where is Mickey, Brendan?

One new face was Teresa Avia Lim as FBI Agent Ange Howe. With Bunchy Donovan in custody, she wants him to testify against his father. Right now, we have no idea about what. Mickey was already framed for Frank Barnes murder and Bunchy had absolutely nothing to do with any of that. Cracking corrections officer Tony Bartlett’s skull is all on Bunchy, as is aiding and abetting Mickey in his escape. As for the two armed robberies, Bunchy was a participant in both and there were plenty of witnesses so what do they even need his testimony for? Even if it somehow came out that Mickey did not murder Barnes, it’s not like they are going to say well, you shouldn’t have been in jail so it’s no wonder you asked your son to help you get away. And you needed money, so we completely understand that the two of you had to get some capital. Maybe Ray will think of something, though.

Poor little Jimmy

Finn Robbins played little Jimmy McGrath. He has been in a few episodes this season. In this one, he saw his mother, Amber (Kate Arrington) being brutally abused by Rad Radulovic who got killed by Ray Donovan. That will probably be a big relief to Amber. To be sure, there was no love lost between Amber and Jimmy’s dad, Mac, who committed suicide, but it’s going to be tough on the kid. He won’t be able to understand what happened until he is grown and by that time, Ray will probably have rehabbed Mac’s reputation.

Other notes: Speaking of Rad, it was kinda funny how he went out, huh? As the meanest and most vicious of the corrupt cops, we rather expected a big knock- down drag-out battle.

We forgot to note a couple of episodes ago that Bridget does know about Smitty and his drugs, although she likely does not know about that Chalky Silver business.

Whatever, if Bunchy doesn’t get sprung, it looks like they’ve got his replacement all lined up with Smitty — Mr. Clueless.
