@VJ – Thanks for the list! This is exactly what I needed… I look up all of the winning & nominated shows and compile my own list of what I think Karen (my wife) and I would enjoy watching.
We have one more episode of Season 1 of “Banshee” to watch. It has been an entertaining show – thanks for the suggestion. I have no idea how they’re going to squeeze 5 seasons out of this story-line, but I guess we’ll soon find out. I need to find something for Karen to watch. She’s on furlough due to the gov’t shutdown and she’s going stir crazy. I’ll peruse your list and hopefully offer her something interesting. We’ve been looking for “Poldark” but can’t seem to find it on-demand, nor did we see it on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Are you (or the petit lapin) familiar w/ that one?

VJ loved Poldark, JJ, except for the last season, I believe. I’m pretty sure it’s on Amazon Prime. I started watching Roma on Netflix, but so far I don’t see what all of the acclaim is about. I tried watching a few episodes of the Kominsky Method, but don’t get the win on that one either. I loved Green Book and was happy that it won some awards, Viggo was great as Tony Lip from the Bronx!! He sounded like me lol. I wonder when it will be released on DVD. Poor Karen, I am sorry to hear that she is affected by this latest insanity.
Yes, thanks for this list, VJ!

@rhonda – Thanks for all of the insight! I plan on seeing Green Book & hopefully Vice this weekend.
Re: the shutdown – it’s such nonsense! And whenever the dust settles, everyone will get their back-pay but the problem we have is missing the regular paychecks. We are NOT wealthy people by any means – in fact, we probably epitomize what it’s like to be “middle class”, so when she doesn’t get a regularly scheduled payroll ck on the very same day the mortgage is due, the Great Grape starts to form a little purple sweat on his brow. And we had a nice little savings acct for emergencies/issues like this when/if they came up, but I burned most of it when I had to spend $12K to $15K to repair my home from the flood damage caused by Hurricane Irma 16 months ago.
Having said all of that, we will figure out a way to ride this out, and I’m well aware that MANY people have it far worse than we do. It’s just frustrating because all of this bickering and drawing lines in the sand could be avoided if people on both sides of the aisle would try to behave more levelheaded! (And so ends my political commentary for the day. Come back tomorrow to read my thoughts on the pros & cons of “Boxers v. Briefs”…) 😎

Hope you enjoy Green Book as much as I did, JJ, and please let me know what you think of Vice.
I hope that you and Karen make it through this situations.
I am sure Boxers v. Briefs will include a discussion of the merits of “Fruit of the Loom” lol.

Yes, Rhonda is right. I did love it up to this last season. Here is a link to Season 1 on Amazon Prime, or just search for “Poldark prime video” over there. They have the complete first 3 seasons, and I would think that PBS is still showing the fourth season. I did watch that but I’m not going back for more.
