WHO ARE CROSBY, STILLS & NASH?

Woodstock ’94 was a 3-day music festival marking the 25th anniversary of the original Woodstock festival in 1969. Crosby, Stills & Nash was one of the acts that performed at the original concert (with Neil Young). At the reunion, they were introduced by John Sebastian (of Lovin’ Spoonful fame) who was also at the original Woodstock. CS&N opened their set with Stephen Stills’ 1970 hit “Love the One You’re With” and closed it with “Woodstock,” a Joni Mitchell-penned song they put on the charts in 1970. Big payday on the Fourth of July after high drama at the WC Knock-out. What a game. VJ, I remember that this is the same response as another episode in the 2000s. What date was that the FJ response? Besides, I’m not even born yet and I’m not familiar with Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

    • VJ says:

@John Christian, I don’t know what game you’re thinking of, but here’s a link to all the clues on them. They only show one FJ from 1999.

      • Richard Corliss says:

Friday June 25, 1999: Terry Currin’s 5th game. The category was Bands of the ’70s. The answer was: In billing order, this quartet’s members were born in L.A., Dallas, Blackpool & Toronto. The answer is: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Norman Rogers from Santa Ana, CA got penalized for forgetting the “S” in Stills’ name.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!

This was quite a game. I agree that Liz’s DD was a toughie. I was surprised that none of them knew Calvin Coolidge was from Vermont. The other president born there was Chester A. Arthur (in the same county where my father was born).

LINK: 9 more clues from the game, including that Competing Brand category with the “once upon a time there was a Budweiser” clue. LOL!! That was a hoot.

  3. Lou says:

Congrats to all the ladies on a spectacular game. And happy fourth of July to you VJ and to John. And to all here who are jeopardy fans. I sincerely hope Suzanne wins tomorrow to get up in between Kyle and Ryan. Also VJ, what were some of your favorite songs from Stills Nash and Crosby? Shame that Liz didn’t know Bertrand Russell, but they were neck in neck in today’s game.

    • VJ says:

@Lou, I guess my favorite is “Teach Your Children Well.” I like “Love the One You’re With” more than that but I associate it just with Stephen Stills.

I kinda hate that song “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” 😀

Had Kate bet it all, first and last would have been apart 1 dollar…
Tough to end up with over 28 K and lose!.
But congratulations to all 3 ladies, I am pleasantly surprised!!
Suzanne jumped on the ToC list, currently #12 with 63.601 behind #11 Marty (65.900) and #13 Jeffrey with 62.300, 3 wins apiece. With another win she could easily push Kyle from #8 and take it herself. We will see her at the ToC I am sure!

HAVE A HAPPY 4TH OF JULY AND ENJOY THE FIREWORKS WHEREVER YOU HAVE THEM!!!!

I have to say for such a small town Lahaina has 20 min. of fireworks at 8 pm sharp, just when it is dark enough and they are BEAUTIFUL!! Can see them from my house, fortunately they are 2 miles away, so no smoke since I am upwind 99% of the time.
And since I have been on Maui (Feb. 1984), it has NEVER rained on July 4th!!

So HAPPY “BIRTHDAY” everybody, also from Doris! Glad that just today we had a triple solve!
