ALL of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
The series that became known as “Where’s Waldo?” in the USA, started out as “Where’s Wally?” in the UK in 1987, to phenomenal success. Everyone loves a challenge and finding the character with the red-and-white striped shirt, matching hat and spectacles became almost an obsession. In the USA, the character’s name was changed to Waldo because “Wally” reminded John G. Keller (then VP of Little, Brown & Company) of Wallis Simpson. Other countries chose their own names: he’s Willy in South Africa, Holger in Denmark and Valdas in Lithuania.
According to 14 Facts About Where’s Waldo? on Mental Floss, it takes creator Martin Handford around 8 weeks to finish each scene, which includes “anywhere from 300 to 500 characters, all meticulously drawn by Handford to the same scale as they appear in the book.”
Lisa bet it all and doubled her score to $15,600.
Alice added $8,500 to her score to finish with $17,700.
Kyle bet $6,001 bet so he won the match with $18,401 and he is the new Jeopardy! champ.
