Please, Ray, don’t blow up my spot

Jaymie Dornan played Kyle, an FBI agent who was working with Frank Barnes for 4 years and was obviously making bank from Barnes’ shady dealings and, quite likely, his successor in those undertakings. To find out what he wanted to know, Ray Donovan only had to suggest that Kyle’s home and clothes were a bit upscale for a dude with his salary.

We’ll be here all week putting gum wrappers in people’s mouths

Adam Meir played the mime (listed in the credits as “Brazen the Clown”). Anastasia Leddick played the street magician woman. The first time Terry ran into him, the mime snatched his cell phone. Terry was in no mood for silly games and angrily made the mime give it back. He stalked off with this parting shot: “Nice way to die, a$$hole.” The next time Terry passed by, the street magician was telling a woman to focus on the name of her father. Then she approached Terry and told him to take a piece of paper out of his mouth that he didn’t even know was in there. Terry found a wadded up gum wrapper in his mouth. The magician opened it and read the name “Michael” out loud, which was the name of the woman’s father and, of course, the name of Terry’s father (not to mention the name of the episode.) Terry was spooked and as he stared back, the mime popped out of the crowd, waved at him and blew a bubble with his gum.

I’m sorry, Brendan, I’m sorry

Folks are saying that Teresa’s confession of infidelity with “some guy” means her character is being written off the show. Awww. If true, we assume she’ll take little Maria with her, but Bunchy should just forgive her. It might have been easier if Teresa said she was drunk.

I shot Frank Barnes

What is Ray trying to do to Daryll? Ray hates Mickey so much that he wants Daryll to frame Mickey for the murder of Frank Barnes. But Daryll loves Mickey, warts and all. This could break him. It would have been so much easier for Ray to blame it on Avi. We have wondered if the gun that Daryll used to shoot Frank was actually Avi’s because Mickey took a gun out of Avi’s car in “Fall from Grace.”

Other Notes:

• Assuming the series is renewed for another season, if it came down to either Avi or Mickey permanently written out, we would much rather see Mickey stay. How about you?
• Ray was not just seeing Abby as an LSN Shopping Channel star in his dreams and kitchen. He also saw Abby as herself walking down the street outside the bar and then turning to go in it, but it was Mickey who came through the door.
• When Ray came to see her at the jail, Bridget was all huggy-wuggy. But once he got her out, she turned on him like a viper! She did thank him and she was the only one in the whole episode who asked Ray what the hell happened to his face. He went through the whole episode with a shiner and a cut on his nose from the battle with Acid Man
