Teddy Roosevelt Clotheslines a Pittsburgh Pierogi at Nationals’ Game

Well we knew this would happen sooner or later.  The Pittsburgh Racing Pierogies, who hold a race between innings of Pirates’ games, traveled to Washington to take on the Nationals’ Racing Presidents between innings of the Pirates–Nationals game on August 15th.  The Racing Presidents include George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and William Howard Taft.  We knew that a bunch of eastern European dumplings would be no match for these heavyweights of U.S. history (we’re speaking figuratively, but yes we know Taft weighed in at 340 pounds or so during his presidency), and here’s your proof.  Watch Teddy Roosevelt take out one of the Pierogies:

If this was the NFL, Teddy would have been flagged for that clothesline tackle.  But it’s cool to watch.

Ol’ T.R. was a boxer for the crimson, so the shot was in character. I didn’t see W.H.T. in there: that may have been what the pierogies were running from.
