Jerry Sandusky Sentenced to 30 to 60 Years
The long awaited sentencing of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was handed down on October 9th, and the convicted child molester will spend at least the next 30 years in prison. The maximum was over 400 years, but the 68 year old Sandusky essentially has a life sentence, as most inmates in Pennsylvania serve more than the minimum, and he’ll be 98 years old after the minimum is served anyway.
In a recorded rant from his jail cell released on October 8th, the delusional Sandusky again claimed innocence and claimed his defense did not have the opportunity to prepare properly for the trial, in obvious denial of the overwhelming body of evidence against him. He issued a similar proclamation of his innocence at the sentencing, and promised to appeal.
Sandusky has been in solitary confinement in the county for his own protection while awaiting sentencing, and corrections authorities are considering his request to be among the general prison population when he is sent to what will probably be a minimum or medium security facility. However, child molesters are not liked by other prisoners, so that may not happen for his own safety. Sandusky says he’ll appeal this injustice against him.
We think Sandusky should shut the hell up and go to jail.
And it’s fine with us if he’s released to the general population.
