Lolo Jones Would Take Tim Tebow to Church for a First Date

Olympic track and field star Lori “Lolo” Jones recently made headlines for publicly divulging this little tidbit: she is still a virgin at age 29. She appeared on Jay Leno the other day discussing, among other things, Jets’ quarterback Tim Tebow.  He’s that other athlete who’s still famously a virgin, so naturally, people think they’re a perfect match for each other.

Jay Leno told Lolo that he knows she is very modest in Part 1 of her appearance. We assumed he was talking about personal humility and not her skirt length! Naturally,the talk turned to her twitter account, where her virginity first came to the attention of the public, and modest Lolo was bleeped for uttering a word so dirty that it caused Jay Leno’s other guest to say she was a “dirty girl.” That was, of all people, Louie C.K. Leno said he would have expected Louie to say the word — not her. Apparently, Louie also did not know that Lolo was taking heat for being a virgin. “Everybody’s mad at a girl who doesn’t put out,” she laughed. Louie told her he thinks it’s great. She’s has something to look forward to and he said she will love it.

Lolo said back in May that her desire to remain a virgin until marriage has made it tough to find a boyfriend who will go along with that. And she spoke of using both twitter and eHarmony to find dates. Jets’ center Nick Mangold has suggested — via twitter, natch — that Tebow is her ideal mate:

“I’m trying to get @timtebow to accept that he and @lolojones are a match made in heaven. #Lobow”

Lolo told Jay Leno that she knows a foolproof way to get a date with Tebow: “I’m pretty sure I’m just going to invite Tebow to church,” she said. “It’s a 100% way not to get rejected.”

Tebow has not commented on the subject.  Lolo will be busy over the next 6 weeks or so as she prepares for, and participates in the Olympics in London where she’ll be running the 110m hurdles.  However, after the Olympics are done in mid August, there will be a 3-week or so window before the NFL regular season starts.  So Tim, if you’ve got a free Sunday morning during training camp, why not give her a call?

Oh, and by the way, Lolo will turn 30 on August 5th. As poet Robert Herrick once wrote:
