Oklahoma City Wins 13th Straight, Improves to 21-1
The Oklahoma City Thunder finished the 2024-25 NBA regular season with a record of 68-14 on their way to the NBA title. They were 17-5 after 22 games last season, an outstanding record, but they’re even better this year. In this season’s 22nd game, the Thunder beat the Golden State Warriors 124-112 in San Francisco on December 2nd. The win was OKCs 13th in a row, and the Thunder improved to 21-1 this season, with their only loss being a surprising two point affair against the now 8-13 Portland Trail Blazers.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for OKC with 38 points, and Jalen Williams added 22. Chet Holmgren scored 21 and had eight rebounds. Gilgeous-Alexander, the reining NBA MVP, is making his case to repeat that honor. He’s second in the league in scoring, averaging 32.8 points per game, and is also averaging 6.5 assists per game. As a team, OKC is scoring 122.3 points per game, third in the NBA, and is allowing the fewest (107). That 21-1 record is also the best in the league. For those wondering when OKC will play the Detroit Pistons, who have the second best record in the NBA at 17-4, you will have to wait until February 25th. They will also play each other on March 30th.
