#17 Tennessee Upsets #3 Houston in College Basketball

In a rematch of an Elite Eight game from last year’s NCAA Tournament, #17 Tennessee faced #3 Houston in a Players Era Festival Tournament game in Las Vegas on November 25th. In last year’s game, the Cougars beat the Volunteers to advance to the Final Four. This time, Tennessee gained a small amount of revenge, beating Houston 76-73.

Ja’Kobi Gillespie led the Volunteers with 22 points. He was 9 of 9 from the free throw line, including 6 for 6 in the last 35 seconds of the game. Jaylen Carey added 13 points and led the team with 7 rebounds. Kingston Flemmings led the Cougars with 25 points, and Milos Uzan scored 17.

Tennessee remains undefeated at 7-0, while Houston takes its first loss (6-1).
