Thu, March 28 – Correct answers: 0
20th CENTURY BOOKS: TIME mentioned “cruelty & enforced conformity” when summing up this novel with a “stonily silent narrator” show
Fri, March 29 – Correct answers: 2
U.S.S.R.I.P.: Of the 15 countries formed by the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, this one is alphabetically last show
There were 2 correct responses for 2 final clues this week and 0 correct for 2 others. Of the ones with 2 answers, I thought the alphabetically last country was the easiest, although one of the responses was really wrong. The wrong response on the Element clue was “What’s going on?”, a remark meant as a joke. Contestants often do that when another player “can’t be caught.” Of the 2 triple stumpers, Friday’s clue was probably the hardest if you agree that the “nickname” hint was better than the “stonily silent narrator” hint.
The quarterfinal matches in the first Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament resumed, adding 5 more semifinalists to the list.

There is one more quarterfinal on Monday (Lilly Chin, Colby Burnett, Sam Buttrey), then the semifinals will begin.
Here is the TRENDING category from Wednesday’s game.
