Supporting Cast: Hope Springs Paternal – Shameless

Kermit (Jim Hoffmaster) schools Kev (Steve Howey) on weapons in the 8th episode of Shameless (Season 4). That one gun Kev got to protect the Alibi is fine if he wants to create the illusion of safety, but if he really wants to be ready in any emergency, Kev will need a weapon in every room of his house, one in his car, one at work and at least two on his person. Kermit then reels off his arsenal: a Bushmaster AR 15, an HK USP .45, Glock 23 .40 Cal, my Sig Sauer P226R 9-millimeter, a Henry .22 magnum, a Ruger SP 101 3-inch 6-shot and his Walther P22. Kermit’s motto is “Prepare and Prevent, not Repair and Repent.” Kermit recommends a gun dealer (Ralph P. Martin) but the going rate for a grenade launcher is a bit too steep. Imminent fatherhood and scary news reports still make him want to take extreme safety measures. To start with, he commandeers Kermit’s motto.”You can’t own a motto, Kermit.”

Regina King portrayed Fiona’s (Emmy Rossum) Probation Officer, who was not impressed with Fiona’s baking skills. Lidia Porto played Principal Ramirez, who suspended Carl (Ethan Cutkowsky) and couldn’t wait for a parent or guardian to come in so she could see who made him. When Frank appeared and gave his pro-bullying speech, she and all the parents of the kids Carl has been bullying were just speechless!
