LeBron James Will Stay with Cavaliers

According to ESPN, LeBron James will sign a new three year $100 million contract with the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers. The first year of the contract will pay him $31 million, making LeBron the highest paid player in the NBA, surprisingly for the first time in his career. It’s reported he’ll get something north of $33 million for the ’17-’18 season, and the third year will be a player option.

There’s no surprise with this, and we didn’t think there was any chance he’d leave the Cavaliers after powering them to their first NBA title ever. LeBron wants to win more championships, and his hometown team figures to be one of the favorites to win for the immediate future. Besides, Golden State can’t afford to sign everybody.
