Wizards Lose 16th Straight Game

The Washington Wizards are having a forgettable season, and it reached a new low on March 6th. Washington, losers of 15 straight games, looked like they might be breaking out of it when they had a 21 point second quarter lead over the visiting Orlando Magic. But the Wizards were outscored 31-18 in the third quarter and 35 to 26 in the fourth, and went down to a 119-109 defeat, and a franchise tying 16th straight loss.

The loss dropped Washington to the unenviable position of worst record in the NBA at 9-53, a half game behind the second worst team, the Detroit Pistons (9-52). Washington will be at Detroit on March 29th, so mark your calendar for that one.

Meanwhile, the Magic are in the midst of a pretty good run. This victory was their fifth in a row, and the team is in fourth place in the overall Eastern Conference standings at 37-26, and lead the Southeast Division by one game over the Miami Heat. Both teams have won eight of their last 10. The two have completed regular season play against each other, with the Heat winning three of four.
