Whitney Houston R.I.P.

We were just reading online earlier today that Whitney Houston was being considered as a replacement judge on the X-Factor … and went to find out some more about that later when we read that Whitney Houston is dead at the age of 48. Shocker.

Granted, some people are not shocked and are already making jokes on twitter, most of them are under the hashtag #whitneyhouston (as opposed to the rip hashtag for the former diva).

One twitterer, Coca Rocha, makes the valid observation: “Its so strange how news programs already have 3 page written obituaries ready to go when someone famous dies at a young age. #WhitneyHouston”

It is strange! TMZ posted a video showing them hassling Whitney while she is out on the town, asking her about the X-Factor rumors.

This was only a week ago. According to TMZ, she passed away today at the Beverly Hilton hotel.

So sad for her mother, Cissy Houston, and daughter. Bobbi Kristina. Condolences to Whitney Houston’s family.
