White Sox Tie Major League Record With Four Straight Home Runs

St. Louis Cardinals rookie reliever Roel Ramirez will remember his major league debut, but not in a good way. Ramirez became the first pitcher to allow four consecutive home runs in his first big league game as the Chicago White Sox’ Yoan Moncada, Yasmani Grandal, Jose Abreu, and Eloy Jimenez all homered with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning in Chicago’s 7-2 victory over St. Louis in Chicago on August 16th.

This was the 10th time in major league history that a club has hit four consecutive home runs, and the second time the White Sox have done it. The other time was against the Kansas City Royals almost exactly 12 years earlier, on August 14, 2008. Ramirez was optioned to the Cardinals’ Alternate Training Site in Springfield, Missouri on August 17th.
