White Sox’ Lucas Giolito Pitches No Hitter
Two years ago, Chicago White Sox righthander Lucas Giolito had a season record of 10-13 with a 6.32 ERA in 32 starts. Last year, he made a huge leap forward, establishing himself as a solid starting pitcher with a 14-9 record and a 3.41 ERA. On August 25th, Giolito added another bullet point to his pitching resume, throwing the first no hitter of the 2020 season, shutting out the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-0 in Chicago.
Giolito is now 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA for the 2020 season. The White Sox also won an afternoon game against the Pirates on August 26th; that win was the ninth in 10 games for the White Sox, who at 19-12 were just a game behind the A.L Central leading Minnesota Twins (20-11). The White Sox will host the Kansas City Royals for a three game weekend series August 28th-30th, before going to Minnesota for a three game set against the Twins.
